12th Ward Participatory Budgeting Survey
The 12th Ward office of Alderwoman Julia Ramirez is working with the Chicago Department of Transportation (CDOT) to determine the 2025 Neighborhood Infrastructure Menu Program. Each year, every ward receives 1.5 million dollars in funding for new infrastructure projects. We need your feedback to determine this year's projects.
12th Ward residents will rank their top three project types in this form. The 12th Ward office will use this survey to determine the allocation of funding for each type of project and use data collected from our 2024 ForWARD Talks Town Hall events. Working with CDOT and other city agencies will allow us to determine project feasibility, cost estimates, and final decisions based on community needs.
To participate, you must be a 12th Ward resident and over the age of 16.
We are offering the survey in three different languages: English, Spanish & Mandarin Chinese.
12th Ward 2024 Menu Report
Last year, my office approved various infrastructure projects needed in the 12th Ward to improve our community and fix our aging infrastructure. Every year, each ward office receives 1.5 million dollars of infrastructure funds. Working with the Chicago Department of Transportation (CDOT) and the Department of Water Management (DWM) and hearing from residents, we were able to determine projects eligible for repair.
Ideas were collected at our six “ForWARD Talks” town hall events hosted by the 12th Ward office in 2024. Through these meetings, my office could determine where these funds were needed and which areas were in higher need. With the help of the residents, we allocated funds based on the ward's needs to bring various pedestrian and traffic safety improvements, street and alley resurfacing, residential lighting, curb and gutter repairs, and a new playground.
We hope you continue to express your concerns to my office and more meetings this year and the future.
Sincerely,
Julia Ramirez
Alderwoman, 12th Ward

Why Participate in PB?
Participatory budgeting (PB) is a process that allows community members to decide how to allocate funds to the menu funding. It's a way for residents to have a say in how the funds should be allocated.

Thank you to everyone who participated in the 12th Ward Survey.
Choose your language below to read the assessment.
Last year, we launched FORWARD talks, where we broke the ward into 6 different regions and held meetings in those meetings to understand the ward's needs better. Because of your help, we were able to understand better where the menu money should focus.
Your participation is important so that all voices are heard—to bring the community closer—and to transform how decisions get made about our future.
Thank you to those who filled out the survey and filled out the 2025 Survey Form.
